Their first full day in Ecuador, June 17, Mary's Company hiked 10 kilometers through the city of Guayaquil to the 15.6 meter high statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was built in 1973 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Ecuador’s consecration to the Sacred Heart.
They started work on Monday, June 19. By Friday, June 23, the Men of Mary's Company had built two houses, one for a family which had been living in shacks, another for an engaged couple.
The men of Mary’s Company would like to thank Epiphany parish and its members for their generosity and prayers which helped make this mission trip possible.
